Tag Your It ♥

As promised Emma Louise tagged me in the questions tag, I've already done one of these so this will be my last for a while,

The questions Emma asked me,

1. What is your goal for this year?

Well since I've passed my driving test almost 3 weeks ago, I'm dying to get into my first car and take that first drive on my own, I'm absolutely petrified, I'm in the process of getting a car at the minute and now I know its looming closer I keep doubting myself, - no idea why since the examiner would not of passed me if he felt like he couldn't trust me - anyone else had this problem or is it silly old me?

2. Who is your biggest inspiration?

This is going to sound really big headed of me but I do see myself as an inspiration, I have been through a number of so many life changing situations that I've come to the conclusion that nothing worse can happen than it already has, and never to let life's little troubles bring you down, and always be grateful for what you do have, even if its not what you want right now,

3. What was your nickname when you were younger?

I really actually hated this one but in school a lot of my friends used to call me Chaz, i hated it, its a bit to chav tastic for my liking, although one nickname has always stuck with my grandad he calls me Charley, but only he gets away with that, hehe!

4. What is your all time favourite film?

Without a doubt Legally Blonde, its the ultimate girlie film of all time and i just love Reese Witherspoon in it, I think I've watched it a billion times and I went to see the musical last year :)

5. Favourite way to relax?

If I'm having a particular bad day i put on my favourite box set or TV show and escape from the real world for a few hours, when i do return to real life, things that have been bugging me don't seem as bad after I've watched these shows, I know there not real either, but it does make me re evaluate my day if its been a bad one.

6. Best holiday you have ever gone on?

It has to be the Maldives hands down last year in September, it was the holiday of a lifetime and what made it more worth it was the fact I payed every penny of myself, and made one of my life long dreams come true, it really was Paradise.

7. If you only had one day left on earth, what would you spend your time doing?

This is going to sound really cheesy but I would just like to spend it with the people most important to me, which would be family and my fiance, i know some people say they'd do something they'd always wanted to but lets face it I wouldn't want to be alone, if it was my last day on earth,

8. Can't live without beauty product?

Eyeliner, my eyes always look and feel so bare without it,

9. Favourite childhood toy?

Gosh it would have to be this Sindy Car, it was the best present I ever got, I loved it, it was a pink land rover with a camping set with tables and chair with little plates and knifes and forks with an indoor bunk bed inside and the back end opened up and transformed into a mini kitchen, i actually still have it up in my loft, I don't think I could ever part with it.

10. Craziest thing you have ever done?

I'm not really that out there as I'm a huge scardy cat, it would probably have been going on one of them ball cages that shoot you up in the air, My mum said she'd pay for 50 euros if I did it with her in Gran Canaria, bad mistake, it was horrible and I to this day will never do it again.

My Fur Baby - Jimjam ♥

I saw this idea on You Are My Color Blog and i just had to do a post on my babies, as I do love talking about my pets

Not many people love pets, partly because they either have a phobia, are allergic or maybe just not interested,
But i think pets are a good way to have a responsibly, especially if you like the idea of having something who is dependent on you and wants to looked after and loved.

I'm not as maternal as some people are, don't get me wrong, i love babies, and fall in love with the idea of being a mum one day,

I've grown up with pets all my life which is partly the reason i could never be without one, they bring so much joy to your life,

The most important fur baby I've had in my life recently,

Jimjam was, me and my fiances first pet together,
since its always me cleaning out his littler tray, i think i know exactly who will be changing nappies one day - ME,

We were living together a year before we decided to get a pet, its a big responsibility, you have to take into account its an extra mouth to feed, insure monthly incase they get ill, pay for vaccinations, £60 a year, and sacrifice getting something ruined.
Luckily Jimjam has only happened to like chewing earphones, particularly the expensive ipod one's,

Anyway i love ginger and white cats, they just remind me of my oliver who i'd had since i was 6 who i had to get put down in Oct last year,

It was like fate though, just as we decided to get a kitten, a friend of mine had took in a stray and she had 4 kittens, ginger and white and the only boy ended up being mine,

We had to wait a few weeks before we could get him as we were going to Florida for two weeks firstly and he was to young to leave his mum, so we went up to visit him and pay for him, when he was about 9 weeks old, i fell in love with him soon as i saw him even more, he was causing choas with his sisters, and was so wriggly , it was hard work getting hold of him, how i managed to get him to pose for this piccy i'll never know.

We couldn't wait to get him when we got home and picked him up the day we got back in the morning, yep we were a little excited to have him, he spent his first night sleeping at the top of my head on my pillow, he was such a good kitten, he didn't ruin a single thing, he was just a little terror when it came to flying around the horse like scooby doo and getting us in trouble with out silly old neighbors below us.

He's now about 1 year and 8 months and i could not imagine my life without him, he's such a friendly kitty cat, who brings so much joy in our life, he loves cuddles, not many cats enjoy being picked up and petted but he loves it, he has this one dog that he's had since a kitten that he insists comes everywhere with him, even to bed, you might be reading this and think i'm being crazy but i have a video to prove it, check it out at the bottom.
Maybe one day in the future we may get him a little friend to play with, I've got my heart set on a pug, i've always wanted a cat and a small dog.
But for now we'll stick with this little terror who spends most of his days sleeping.
Cats are so lazy,

If anyone else wants to do a post like this please link me :)

My video as promised,

Spring/Summer Hair Inspiration: The Fish Plait ♥

So one of the things you girls voted for was more make up & hair tutorials,
So I've decided to start a new feature weekly for a while, for girls who love there hair like me and love experimenting with different styles.
Hair Inspiration,
This video from Boohoo inspired me to do just that, as I love this hair style, its so simple to do and is a twist on the basic plait.

This video is an easy step by step tutorial how to achieve the perfect fish plait, its not easy to do I'll give you that on your own hair but pratice does make perfect.
So keep at it :)

This style is perfect for festivals, BBQ's, drinks with your friends or just a normal everyday hairstyle,
Its easy - once you know how to do it, effortless and looks girlie.
If you've got short hair not to worry, you can probably achieve this if your hair is long enough, and extensions are perfect for giving you a helping hand at adding length,

I thought I'd give this a go myself, the backcombing bit was a no go, my hairs that think and heavy it just tends to fall out, but i still managed it, the pieces of hair that can't quite reach can be curled loosely for a simple boohoo look.

What do you girls think of this look?
Is it something you'd love to give a go??

I'm A Winner ♥

Last week Quiz clothing ran a competition, where to enter you had to create an outfit in there online fitting room worth £150.00 and then send them the link in an email, and you could win the whole outfit, I couldn't believe my luck later on when I had an email of the Quiz team saying i had won,
it was a week day competition for 5 days i think,
I got sent a £150 voucher to use online or in-store, of course I couldn't wait to spend it as soon as i got it in the post,
Below here is what i purchased,
A lot of the longer tops I love wearing effortlessly with leggings and jeggings or skinny jeans.

Pop Your Cherry ♥

Batiste have released a new fruity fragrance to the dry shampoo collection, Fruity & cheeky Cherry and it smells absolutely amazing, and the perfect scent for for the upcoming spring/summer 2012,
Up until now the Tropical scent was my favourite as it always reminds me of my holidays as that's the one i tend to take away with me when I'm going away.

I received this new one in the post, and it quickly became my favourite,
I seem to have developed a Batiste obsession, i can't stop buying the cans, i have about 5 cans at present, cause i like abit of a change - i get bored easily.

How cute vintage looking is the can - I love it,

  RRP Price: £2.99, 200ml

I have noticed how great this stuff makes your hair feel though, it makes mine more soft and manageable and i do like that cheeky half hour extra in bed.
Its the best thing ever created, I wish i'd discovered it a lot sooner than I did.

Has anyone else tried the lastest one yet??What do you think of it?

Valentines Day In Pictures ♥

So i don't want to bore you all, as I know some people detest Valentines day with a passion and think its another sad excuse to waste your money on pointless cards, and you don't need one day to tell show someone how much you love them, bla bla,
I'm a true romantic at heart and i like that extra day where I'm made to feel extra special,

My fiance surprised me with lots of tasty treats the night before valentines day, I'd had a really horrible day, and this definitely put the smile back on my face.

Then Valentines Day :)

I got a lovely card, a huge milk tray
& while I was at work the flower lady delivered some beautiful flowers,

I hope all my other beautiful lady followers got extra special treats too,
and you don't always need a guy to feel special on valentines day.

Project Perfect ♥

So i first came across this post on my gorgeous friend Rachel Crawford's blog, and i loved it,
The idea was originally from Amy's Blog, she made this project related to body image and how we see ourselves, you can see her project "Project Perfect" here and the post she also did on her own body image, There both gorgeous girls, and seeing other peoples posts is a great idea to see we are not all alone when it comes to outlining our negatives, and how we see ourselves but others don't and we can all learn to I love ourselves rather than putting yourself down,
I love that Amy makes you list negatives which can be turned into positives, you can all join in on this project and link back to Amy's blog so she can see yours,
I wanted to join in also, my post is below,

1. Post a photo that you like of yourself and say in a couple of sentences why you like it.

2. State some things that you DON'T like yourself but say why others may love to be like that.

3. State 3 things that you DO like about yourself.

So, here is my Project Perfect post:

A photo of myself that I really like.

I picked this picture as i just think its a really natural normal day to day picture of me, its a picture that hasn't been retouched, only darkened as it was quite bright,
I like this picture because I look genuinely happy, I was having a really nice day that day, the sun was out and it was lovely and warm, this dress is one of my favourites as it flatters my skin tone and body shape and i love the colour of my lipstick and my long hair,

Three things that I don't like about myself, but turned into positives:

My middle half, i tend to put weight on this part of my body more than anywhere, its in my genes sadly, I'm a 10, sometimes and 8 (i think thats just generous shop sizing) now, i used to be a 12/14 on this part of my body as i do watch what i eat now and do have to diet when i see the pounds going back on, but I do wish i could be more toned, but I've got to stick with what god created, my friends and my fiance tell me they love my body shape as I look more womanly - even though i hate that word,

My teeth are my biggest put down, I can't smile open mouthed as my top 4 teeth stick out more than they should and I hate my side view, I'm getting this fixed at the minute so that will be turned into a positive shortly, I'm told i have a lovely smile still despite the fact its a closed one, but being able to smile is better than not being able to smile at all.

My thick hair, i have far to much of it, and its a pain to dry in the morning, and takes the longest to maintain than anything else, i have to wash it every 2 days as it gets greasy quite quick also, I wish it was easier to put up, but any style is just hard to do as my hairs to heavy and it falls out,
It just has no style so most of the time i resort to the easy straight down look,
I know people would kill for thick hair but trust me I'd trade places with anyone who has lovely thin straight hair that they can style really easily.

Three things that I like about myself:

My eyes - I think are my best asset, there hazel with hints of blue round the outside, I love the colour,  and enhancing them with eyeliner and false eyelashes, and there one of my fiances favorite feature about me so he tells me,

My legs - I'm lucky to have long legs (these are the good part of my genes) they seem to be longer than any part of my body and are always toned as i do lots of walking,
I make the most of them and wear lots of dresses or short shorts when the weathers lovely,

My Tan - I can tan in literally 5 minutes, (from my dad) which is perfect when I'm out in the sun or on holiday, i go a lovely shade of brown quite quickly, which means there's never any need for fake tan as i have a lovely glow all year round,

If you liked reading this, you should take part and let Amy know, her aim to hopefully make one person feel better about themselves, and just know beauty isn't always on the outside, there's no such thing as perfect and half the pictures you see in magazines aren't 100% real, so embrace all the positive features about yourself and make the most of them.

Be My Valentine ♥

I've been saving this post for a little bit so I could wait till nearer to Valentines day,
I was sent one of these brushes, which i absolutely fell in love with,
Any girlie girls will love these,
I've used Denman hairbrushes for as long as i can remember, my mum used to use one my hair as a little girl,
and in my honest opinion are the only brushes that don't yank out my hair,
As us long haired girls know the longer it is the knottier it gets,

Press Release * Not my words

*The Denman D3 Kiss Brushes available in saucy red, sexy black and romantic pink complete with kiss lip prints, the perfect valentine memento.

Not only is this fab brush a romantic way to show you, you love her, it comes with all the gizmo's of the 'famous Denman half-round'  and an anti-static rubber pad to provide maximum grip and control during blow-drying when she smoothes, shapes and polishes the hair.
Use it and she will feel beautiful enough to kiss every day.*

So in other words, show your boyfriend, or your other half, and get him to head staright over to Boots, Superdrug, John Lewis, Sainsbury's or Independent Chemists to get his hands on one for £7.31,
and tell him its a future investment,
Also you can buy from the website - www.denmanbrush.com

I thought I'd give you a closer look, some of you may be thinking its just a brush,
But its not just any brush, perfect for combing through your hair when its wet, no knots or tangles you get with some ordinary brushes, and the wide bristles are perfect for all of that,
And if your blow dry your hair, these are fab to use, most hairdressers you'll find use them on your hair, I use mine to blow dry my hair so i don't get any static or frizz,
Its just an ordinary picture of me, but this is my nice shiny smooth static free hair after styling with this brush.

And because its valentines day you have even more of an excuse to buy one :)

So Denman hairbrushes, who else uses them??

Amazing News ♥

Excuse the geeky picture of me, and frizzy hair, it was raining, my instructor wanted a picture for his facebook,

That I am just so happy about, i fell like doing a happy dance all day long,
I passed my driving test today :)
A few of you already know it was one of my new years resolutions, and I actually still can't believe I'm typing this, it feels like a dream I'm going to wake up up from real soon,
After driving for nearly 2 whole years, I wasn't learning so well with my other instructor, so had to get a new one who I'd passed with.
& I actually never thought I'd see the day or even hear them two amazing words "You've passed" i could of kissed my examiner.

So there you have it, I'm one of them people that are just so negative in life but I've learned and proved to myself you can really do anything you set your mind to, even if you tell yourself you don't think your ever going to do it.

An Update ♥

So I've decided after starting the project 365 challenge 12 days ago its just not for me, its quite time consuming blogging every day as it is as I'm pretty super busy and i like making time to write beauty related posts which is what my readers tend to like read more of.

I tend to be one of them people that do get bored of doing something really quickly but I've kept this blog up and running for a year so something good has come of it, and of course meeting some of you lovely lot.

So more beauty related posts will resume and I can write about things I really want to write about now I'll have that extra time :)

Also I posted a post about starting a vlog yesterday, I'll leave a poll up on the left hand side of my bar so you can click yes if you want to see more of me in the future and other related posts, i always want to get my readers involved and to keep you all interested as blogging to me isn't about the number of followers its about the people who come back every day.

Project 365: #012 Volunteering ♥

"This picture was taken of the society of abandoned animals facebook page"

This is where I spent this Saturday morning, (I had to steal the picture) in the cat re homing centre at Dane Road Animal Sanctuary, where I've been volunteering, there's roughly about 13 pens, I do need to get a few pictures of the gorgeous kitties that I talk about, i just never get round to taking them as I'm so distracted,

I got here at 9.30 am this morning, when I could have had a lie in, but seeing gorgeous furry faces is the reason I get out of bed.

It was quite a successful Saturday morning , the whole 3 hours and a half I was there one cat got re homed, "Chips" his name was, he was quite an old boy so was so happy when he was picked, i wish more people would go for older cats rather than kittens.

A black cat called Tiger got reserved and so did two kittens who were about 6 months old, so I don't think they will be there when I next go back.
So hopefully there won't be two many new faces next time i go, as much as i love seeing them, i hate the fact that more and more cats get dumped everyday.

I was stroking these two absolutely gorgeous kittens today who were pretty young and so loving, I'd say they were under a year old, they'd been dumped with there mum and dad and brothers and sisters, and I think the mum was pregnant again, they'd just been chucked over the gate and left overnight, in a cardboard box,
I constantly ask myself why people do this to such poor innocent creatures, and HOW, but i guess there are some pretty sick people out who deserve to suffer themselves.

I'll be going back again in 3 weeks, as i only volunteer every 3 weeks, so if anyone actually likes reading these posts do tell me and I'll do more of them :)

Project 365: #009 Topshop Vintage Buy ♥

I stepped into my local vintage shop today and i never fail to find a bargain in this shop, I don't think I've ever walked out without buying something, and have a guess how much I spent on this dress??

A bargain one pound and fifty pence for this blue dress from Topshop which probably would of set me back about £40 or more in the actual shop.

I love dresses like this, perfect for summer holidays and for the price, well it was impossible not to turn down.

:)

Regular readers will know I'm a vintage shop shopper, i remember the days when you wouldn't see me dead stepping into a charity shop, until one day my life changed forever.
If you've never done it, have a look, you could find the perfect outfit, different clothers are always coming in and out of fashion all the time, so you could pick something up that's bang on trend :)
