This Year & Looking Back ♥

Happy New Years Eve, I hope that wherever you are in the world, you've had a happy and great year, and you all have an amazing night.

Last December 2011 I set myself 13 Resolutions for the new year,

I actually can't believe how many of these I stuck to.
I am very proud of everything I have accomplished this year,

If you are a new follower you won't know what my 2012 new years resolutions were, but don't worry this post is dedicated to my whole year and what I accomplished,

Lets go back 12 months:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
♥ Tone Up, you'll read in my last post I've lost weight over a space of a year, this year will be all about toning up the tops of my legs, my tummy, and my arms, I've realised I'm going to be 25 next year, that's scary and I'm not even 24 yet, arrrgh!!! - Not Achieved,

Well I DID not accomplish this - I have no idea why I set this goal every year, its not realistic, I love my food to much, next year will be about eating healthier and cutting out those dreaded takeaways.
I've not gained weight this year and very little has changed in that department so I am happy I've kept on top of something.

♥ Volunteering - I have a day in the week and a whole weekend free so I really want to do some volunteering somewhere, preferably an animal shelter, I've already applied at a local one and I'm awaiting a reply, damn these bank holidays, and since I'm studying to be a veterinary nurse this would be a fab opportunity - Achieved,

Picture was taken from Dane Road Animal Sanctuary's Facebook

I did actually get a job volunteering part time in the new year at my local animal shelter looking after the cats who had been abandoned, I think I was hoping this would be an opportunity to meet other people as well as getting some hands on experience, but I don't know what happened here, part of it was due to the fact I hadn't passed my driving test yet and I was having to rely on taxi's and my fiance to take me on a Saturday that it did just fizzle out - but I at least I tried it, and I got to meet some gorgeous kitty who I wanted to take home with me.

♥ Pass my driving test, its no big secret I'm booked in for the 4th resit of my driving test, 2012 will be the year I pass, I can feel it, its just literly in finger reach and I will not give up - Achieved,

I did it, February the 9th was the day I passed my driving test and it was one of the most proudest moments of my life, I will admit when I first started driving, I didn't put my all into it, but when I finally realised I needed to try harder I did try my hardest and I PASSED!!! with only 4 minors.
Definitely one of the best things to happen this year.

♥ Meet more of you lovely bloggers in the future, one gorgeous girl I have met on here last year, Rachel Cocking, I still really want to meet, so this year will be the year, we finally have a good old natter in person, and of course re meet with my other favourite girlie's - Achieved,

This year I did finally get to meet the lovely Rachel from Island Girl Insights, we had a fab day shopping and we did ended up having a great natter, she was just as lovely in real life :)
I also had the opportunity to meet up with Rachel Crawford & Gina again, first at Meadowhall in the summer, and them at the Christmas Markets in December, these were highlights of my year, and I hope there's more of them to come in 2013,

♥ Open that savings account that my fiance actually said he was going to open for us when we get back from our holiday this month, "his words not mine" We've been engaged for over a year now and a wedding next year will most possibly 80% be on the cards if we save together :) - Achieved,

We did one waaaay better than this and with me getting a 2nd job, our dream of getting married suddenly became in reach and we thought why and earth were we waiting till 2014 to get married, we booked our wedding and on the 24th September 2013 were off to Cyprus to get married, and we opened that savings account and we've done brilliantly with saving, I've even paid off 50% off on my wedding dress.

♥ Try on a wedding dress, my god, i can not wait to do this, its never been a huge dream of mine but as soon as that ring was popped on my finger I've already decided what dress i want, now i need to get a feel of an actual dress and try one on and who knows even buy it,
I'll work on my dad to help with this purchase ;) - Achieved,

This isn't the dress I picked by the way,

Well I tried on my wedding dress and I bought it already in November 2012 after trying on 27 dresses in total - true to that fact that you never know where your futures heading or what's going to happen, this was one of the truly magical moments of my life and I can not wait till I get to walk down the aisle wearing the absolutely stunning dress I have picked - and I picked the complete opposite of the dress I vowed I wold never choose.

♥ Move to a bigger place, me and my fiance live in a flat at the minute, and we've never had the opportunity to look about properly, the first time we got a place we wanted to get in somewhere before Xmas, and the second time round we had a month to find somewhere new, so a two bedroom house with a pretty garden would be perfect - Not Achieved,

This was quite unrealistic, and I don't know why I wrote this one, this year I think we fully decided we would start saving for a mortgage, but our wedding is our main priority, I think plans were to see how much we had left after we'd paid for our wedding and go from there, this could be a big possibility in 2014.

♥ Have a perfect smile, one of my biggest hang ups as i got bullied in school for it and the reason you never see me smile properly on pictures, I refused to wear a brace in school, my fault, but i am working on getting work done this month to get that perfect smile, and straighter teeth without the need of a brace, after all I do want to look perfect for my big day :D

Some of you may have noticed, particularly my closest friends that I do smile alooot more now,
In February, I had work done on my front teeth and I won't be ashamed, I had veneers put in in place of 4 of my front teeth so I could finally have a perfect smile from the front and side, also this was because I wanted to look perfect on my big day and it was always one of my biggest hang ups.
I now feel more confident smiling on pictures and i feel my smile has completely changed my face,
If your not happy with something, I would always say do everything you can to fix that.

♥ Visit lots of new places, I always regret not making the most of all the nice weather and when its all dreary like this i always think i should of gone more places in the summer, so this year will be all about more road trips with the fiance,

I really want to visit Scotland - Not Achieved

We didn't go to many places this year, partly because our Summer was a bit of a rubbish one and I mine and my fiances hours just didn't match and we didn't have many days off together.
One of the nicer places we went to for the day was Rudyard Lake up in Buxton on my birthday,
It was a gorgeous day and it was stunning, we had no phone signal for a while so it was nice just the two of us being able to spend time together somewhere new.

♥ Complete my Veterinary Home Learning Course & get that qualification - quite achievable since I've got about 4 modules to go over, but once i have that qualification there's no stopping me - Achieved

I finally completed this course :) and I proudly have my qualification in veterinary nursing, when I will use it,I'm not to sure in the near future, but you never know whats round the corner.

♥ Have more nights out and spend more time with my friends, I'm quite a solitary person and love my own space, some people hate being on my own, i love it, probably the good thing that came from being an only child, i need to stop being as selfish and offer more of my time to the people who need it - Achieved

Me and my bridesmaid Steph from November,

I did go out more this year and I made the effort to go to more occasions I would of normally have said no to, which I am really happy about because not only did I make new friends, I also had so much fun, and who knew buying a new dress and wearing it out could be so exciting.

♥ Finally of course to make this year of blogging better than last year, its almost been a year - end of next month to be precise, and I've gained nearly 600 lovely people who actually read my blog, who would of thought people actually read what i waffle on about lol - Achieved

I am so glad that a year later I am still blogging in this little corner of my life, its the one place that saves me when I want to get away from the real world for a few hours, and the fact that my followers have now reached 1054 makes me very happy,
Here's to more blogging in 2013!!

As well as all of these amazing things that happened I also:

♥ Went on a family holiday to Tenerife,  in January with my grandma, grandad, unlce and fiance and made more memories,

♥ Got a new part time Job back at Jane Norman,

♥ Started a BTEC Course in health and Social Care,

2013 for me will not be about setting myself goals like I did last year, I felt like I would of accomplished these goals even if I hadn't wrote them down.

2013 will be about making more amazing memories with my fiance and family, getting married and celebrating 7 years together, saving for mine and my fiances first house, getting a move on with my card making buisness, and being prepared for what life chooses to throw at us
As well as continuing to blog ♥

I hope you enjoyed reading this - thank you for reading all of this if you got this far :)
I wish you all A Happy 2013

Lots Of Love

What I Got For Christmas ♥

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, I can't believe it has come and gone so soon, Xmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day went faaaar to quick, and then I ended up with the flu on Friday, I'm just about recovering and I'm occupying myself and you lot by writing a post about what I go for Christmas.
I love a good nosey and seeing what people got so I wanted to jump on the bandwagon.
I was extremely grateful because so many people put effort into there presents this year to me and I loved everything I got.
My fiance spoilt me so much - we have this rule where we spend an exact amount on one another, I stick to this, whereas he has to go one better than me.
This year I thought he'd agreed to our promise and I unwrapped my presents as usual and he completely surprised me.
I have two jobs at the minute working over 40 hour weeks to save for our wedding next year and put extra aside in our saving for our dream home for after we get married, Christmas has been manic and I've been getting home at stupid times doing 13 hour days - can I just say (I hate retail)
My fiance knew how hard I'd been working and he himself worked overtime just so he could treat me to a Kindle Fire HD - I was so happy when I unwrapped this, completely unexpected as I'd mentioned how much I wanted a kindle but he said I didn't need one (his little ploy to throw me off guard) - this was one of my best presents.

I also got lots of beauty treats, there was a time when I hated getting bath treats as presents, but since getting my own place I seem to love them all over again and my bathroom looks like one of Boot's beauty aisle's.

I got a LUSH Candy Cane gift set from my uncle - Snow Fairy and the Popcorn lip scrub are amazing - I just want to eat the lot.

I got some gorgeous bath goodies and matching perfume from my fiances best mates mum and a Katie Price perfume - Besotted - off my mother in law to be.

Rachel Crawford & Georgina Balmer (My favourite Blogging Beauts) also spoilt me this year and got me some gorgeous goodies - Thank you girls.
The only thing that isn't pictured is my gorgeous smelling Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake air freshener for my car.

My fiance also got me a Seksy watch I'd asked for, I wanted a pretty watch I can wear for every occasion and this one is perfect he picked out - I just need to get a few links removed so it fits me.
My Mother in Law to be bought me this pretty necklace with birds and butterflies on too.

This picture was also another one of my favourite and thoughtful presents I got given.
I saw this picture a few months ago in NEXT and I showed my Grandad a picture of it a few weeks back, he must have an amazing memory because he got it me and its now standing pride of place on my wall in our bedroom - in case you didn't know I have an obsession with butterflies, they are so beautiful and if you walk into our flat you will notice I have a liittttle obsession.

My Grandad also bought me this pretty bone china mug from John Lewis, it has pictures of all different butterflies on it and what kind they are, something to look at and memorise when I'm drinking my brew from it.

While I'm on the subject of mugs me and my fiance also got this set off his grandad, I bloody love these so much - I spotted them in a little quaint shop up in Holmfirth near Huddersfield and pointed them out because they were so us and I even tried to search fro them online but I couldn't find them, they are a one of a kind set, so imagine our amazement when he actually bought them for us.
These are our daily morning brew mugs.

You can't go wrong with a few comedy DVD'S - Micheal McIntyre and Sarah Millican who I'm off to see in 2014 live - ages yet,

And lastly my other cute presents,
My fiance bought me a new butterfly purse and a cute little pug phone case I was after for my Samsung Galaxy S3.
My mother in law to be also go me this cute little puppy pugs cosmetics bag from NEXT.
Next year I want a real pug.

I can't not include my pretty branch lights my friend Steph got me with a warm fluffy teal throw for our settee.
We got lots of other pretty things and lots of chocolate which I will be consuming before New Year so I can start my diet lol.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post - what was your favourite gift you received for Christmas?

Firmoo Glasses ♥

Two posts in one day - this is a post that is very different to what I normally post about, so kind comments only please,
Not many of you know I wear contacts day to day but I do wear glasses during the evening or when I want a break because I am pretty short sighted,
I can not be without my contacts or glasses.
Firmoo are an eye wear company I have been familiar with for a while, I actually purchased two pairs of glasses from them a few months back and only paid just over £10 for two pairs, which I thought was fab as I only wanted them for the evening or when I wanted to give my eyes a break from contacts.
They stock a huge range of fashionable prescription glasses and sunglasses and they also have a virtual try on service - upload a picture of yourself and you can try different pairs on to see which suit you.

Firmoo offered to send me a pair of glasses to try - I picked this pair below they are a black and tortoiseshell pair which are also available in blue,

My first thoughts about these glasses were, that they did fit well, better than my other two pairs, I just felt more comfortable wearing them, wether or not I'd wear them out everyday I don't know I'm still quite shy about wearing glasses in public, I do think they suit me, the geek chic look is quite in now I think and I do love black framed glasses, I think they look more intellectual.
They are excellent quality and all glasses come with a handy carry case and a cloth for cleaning them with, my lenses are made out of plastic, I still think plastic is just as good as glass.
Firmoo do have great prices and they start from just $6.00, that how much my black pair cost me below.
These are all three pairs of my Firmoo glasses, you can never have enough styles.

" The old opinion that glasses are only necessities for people with vision problems has already gone. Glasses are increasingly becoming a fad and must-have accessories for celebs and fashionistas. Everyday we can spot millions of non prescription glasses wearers and we are constantly fascinated by many noted film stars’ signature non prescription glasses.
They instantly upgrade your look of modern, sexy, vintage or geek by wearing different styles of frames.
Any hot glasses/sunglasses /goggles frames you want can be found on Firmoo, and all are available for both prescription lenses and non-prescription lenses.
Are you desperate to have a new look? Now here is the chance, Firmoo has launched a First Pair Free Program to people worldwide. You will absolutely fall in love with the excellent quality, affordable prices, fashionable designs, fast delivery and the good service after trying them with paying shipping only! You even can get a refund/exchange if you are not satisfied with them. It's totally Risk free, so why not have a try?

Little Black Bag ♥

Hello lovelies, in case you didn't know:

I know you know that really, I probably won't be posting till after Christmas now, I'll be so busy I can imagine like the rest of you, so I hope you all have a good one.

My Christmas Eve will be spent going down to Cannock - which is where I will probably be on my way now - we're off to see my fiance's best mate and "Best Man" to exchange Christmas presents and go for a pub lunch, then later on, I'm meeting with my uncle and a few friends for a few festive drinks the night before Christmas.
I can not wait till tomorrow, ekkkkk!

Anyway enough of my rambling I'll get on with the post.

Today I wanted to show you my pretty new bag from Brand Village

I got it through the post recently, and it came just in time as I've been dying for a new bag that's perfect for every occasion and one I can take this anywhere,

I think it really smartens up any outfit and goes with the majority of items I wear and own.

I've only heard of Brand Village recently but they already have me addicted to bags again,
I'm a bit of a bag hoarder - they stock all kinds of different bags to suit every ones taste.
So you will find something for everyone,

And they really are excellent quality, I was quite impressed with mine when I got it and I know its going to last me a long time,

A few girls at work have already asked where its from so I know its a keeper.

You can browse Brand Villages handbags here and have a little splurge or window shop.

I took some closer up pictures so you can have a look what mine looks like inside.

My bag has a 3 zip compartments which I love because it means I'm not digging in my bag for ages trying to look for my car keys or phone, I keep my important pieces in the middle zip pocket, my purse in one compartments and my make up bag in the other - it has made my life so much easier,

It has a gold clasp which shuts the bag which I prefer rather than a zip as I'm a nightmare for not zipping up my bag, ooops,

My bag also came with a long strap so I can wear it on my shoulders instead of on my arm, but I do prefer it on my arm at the minute.
You can purchase this bag here its available in a few different colours, the cream version is gorgeous.
What do you think of my bag from Brand Village - do you like it?
P.S The winner for my Christmas Giveaway has been annouced, the winner is - Anastasia Soldatos
I've already sent you an email hun.

In the mean time my giveaway for than chance to win some leggings from "Oh My Love" is still open till the 29th.

♥ Christmas Time ♥

Less than a week till Christmas now eeek,
I wanted to join in on a little tag I've seen about on other blogs - feel free to steal - and add a few of my own Christmassy photo's I've taken over the past weeks because I had to share them with someone.

I always get my little kitty involved in Christmas, because he's mine and my fiance's baby, he's always spoilt rotten every year, so we always make sure he has a stocking up every Christmas with lots of treat inside.
Although he has been a little naughty and been playing with the baubles on the tree, he's been quite a good kitty this year, and the best bit - he's left our tree alone.
I wanted to take a few pictures in his festive Santa collar which he tolerated well, he even kept it on for about half an hour before he decided it made a better toy.

What Is Your Favorite Thing About Christmas?

To me Christmas always makes me feel like a little kid and I get so excited every year, I still wish I got the butterfly feeling I always got when I was younger though,
My favorite thing of all time is spending it with all the one's I love the most.
My mum passed away three years ago so I always feel like a part of me is missing at Christmas but I have my amazing close knit family and fiance to keep me smiling all day,
I love spending Christmas morning opening presents, then eating my whole body weight in quality street, mince pies, wine and Christmas dinner and watching all the Christmas films and programmes they have on.
I really couldn't think of a more perfect way to spend a day.

What Is Your Favorite Make Up Look For The Festive Season?

I always try to wear something festive colored ever year make up wise, this year its red nail polish with glitter, which is what I have on my nails now, or red lipstick, which I will be wearing on Christmas day without a doubt, I try not to go to over the top as my day is pretty much spent lazing about anyway.
But I do always make that extra effort on Christmas day.

Real Or Fake Tree?

Fake without a doubt, I love real Christmas tree's, I think they look amazing but I always remember when I was younger how messy they were, plus I have a cat and I wouldn't want to risk him swallowing any needles or hurting his paws,
I always think artificial tree's are more pretty looking and you can get them in so many different colours,
I love colored tree's and I don't think I'd ever have a green traditional one.
My tree is a plum colour and I think it looks so pretty in our living room as we have a plum, black and teal theme.
My fiances mum has a white one up with teal decorations and it just looks beautiful.

Giving or Receiving Presents?

I would have to say giving, I love shopping for presents every year and I always try and get thoughtful presents for my fiance and family and close friends, I like to go that extra mile, and I think Christmas is one of them times when you can really spoil someone and show them how much they mean to you.
I love the smile someone gets on there face when you've got them a present they really want or given them something they weren't expecting - to me that's priceless.
I love wrapping presents to, this has to be one of the best things about Christmas, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to wrapping presents and I probably spent to many hours this year wrapping prsents hehe,

Do You Open Your Presents In The Morning Or Evening?

Always the morning, what normally happen now because I live with my fiance, we get up really early, we open everyone else's presents first, we take it in turns to open one and we pick them out for each other.
Then we take it in turns opening our presents we've got each other and we pick them out ourselves which one's we want to open first.
Then I normally go to my nans and grandads which is where I've been going since I was a baby - I can't break a tradition - and I give them there presents to open and I open there's ect,
Then usually the rest of the family comes round in the evening,

Handmade Or Bought Christmas Cards?

I am quite creative and I was going to make my own Christmas cards this year but I've just had no time at all, so I've bought all my important family and friends personal Christmas cards this year,
The one think I love about being with some at Christmas is getting cards like the one above, its my last Christmas as a fiancee this year as I will be a wifey next Christmas - eeek!

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Film?

I honestly can't say I have a favorite, I have so many films I love watching at Christmas,
My most watched Christmas films do have to be Home Alone 1 & 2 (2 is my favorite), The Grinch, Elf, Santa Clause The Movie, Miracle on 34th Street, Deck The Halls & Christmas With The Cranks.

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Food?

This is a really hard question but my top to favorites do have to be Quality Street and mince pies,
They seem to be the most eaten things in my household.
I love all the party food platters you can get too, like the mini pork pies and sausage rolls but the again you can get them all year round,
I don't think its officially Christmas until you've had your first mince pie.

I hope you enjoyed reading how I spend my Christmas, let me know if you join in on this post and leave your link so I can have a read.

"I also want to wish all my followers a Merry Christmas,
And I hope you all get the pressies you asked for and you have a lovely day,"

I ask for a pug every year, I'm still waiting for one 3 Christmases on, I know I'm not being realistic because ideally we need a bigger place first, but there's not harm dreaming right.
There's still next Christmas.
